Club Field Directions - Standardize Directions
The Referee Committee has asked all Club Reps to
standardize directions for their fields. This will make
understanding the directions easier for all referee's.
To be posted on
SJSL web page or forwarded as an email to club reps:
 |
Present
information as bullet items (one bit of information per line).
No paragraphs. |
 |
Directions
to fields must start at known and marked exits/cross-streets of
the area’s major state routes (206, 168, 130, 73, 70, 42, 40, 30
and 1) and/or the interstate highway system (NJ turnpike, Routes
295, 55, and the Atlantic City Expressway). |
 |
When
appropriate, driving directions should be from multiple
directions (from the north, south, east, and west of the field
site) |
 |
Identify
key landmarks that are passed (on which side of the road)
including the number of stop lights/stop signs |
 |
Provide
secondary County route numbers in addition to street names |
 |
Give
driving distances and time between key landmarks |
 |
Link to a
web based street map is also recommended in addition to the
narrative directions |
 |
For sites
with multiple playing fields, provide specific directions to the
proper field area or site regulations (Mill Creek Park – parking
restrictions – Washington Lake Park – speed restrictions)
 |
Err on
the side of too much information |
|
Club reps are
to re-affirm web site address and web site update to the SJSL Web
Master no later than August 1, 2004.
Clubs that do
not have a web site are to provide the requested information via
email in Arial 10 point font to the SJSL Web Master no later than
July 15, 2004.
